Stay Positive

I’m sure you’ve heard people say “stay positive”, “keep your head up”, “insert-cliche-motivational-quote-here”. Sometimes, it just doesn’t cut it. It seems like that horrible day will never end and the workload you have feels unbearable. No matter what it is, we all have those days.

Last Tuesday, for me personally, was terrible. I woke up with a different mindset, as I am generally a positive person, however once I walked out the door I noticed my window ALL THE WAY DOWN…*sigh*, after a storm had passed through last night. My car was soaking wet; there was literally standing water in my car. Luckily, I work closely with the owner of  AAA Service Company, a Memphis-based water damage restoration company. (They saved my car. Have you seen images of moldy cars? Gross.) Then, I was super stressed out about an important meeting, but thankfully I have a supportive husband that makes me look past my insecurities and makes me smile no matter what. Then, as soon as I walked in the door there were toys and kitchen utensils and pots and pans scattered everywhere. The mother in me wanted to scream for hours but before I did that, I somehow managed to catch a glimpse of my husband already washing the dishes with our kiddo. Last but not least, online marketing and website design are mentally draining. But, the perks of my job FAR outweigh a traditional 9-5 job.

Reading this over again makes me smile, because you really just don’t realize how small your problems are when you’re stuck in the middle of them.

It’s so easy to see the negative, but its really, really important to at least try to see the positive. You might change your perspective – your attitude determines your direction.
